The Public Works Department is responsible for the functions of the town relating to streets, highways, bridges, and storm drains, recreational facilities, and public buildings. The department also cooperates with other departments and functions of the town government by furnishing labor, materials and equipment.

The Town of Scituate will be
accepting sealed bids on the following used equipment:
Vans, pick-up trucks, police
cars, lawnmowers, & misc. equipment.
Vehicles may be viewed at
the Scituate Public Works Complex on Trimtown Road during working hours Mon.
through Fri. 7:30am – 3:30pm and Sat. 8:30 – 12:00.
Bids shall be submitted to
the Public Works Department in sealed envelopes and clearly marked with the
number of vehicle or equipment and name and phone number before 2:00pm on
November 12, 2015 at which time they will be opened publicly at the Public
Works. All bids will be on individual vehicles or equipment only. No lot bids
will be accepted. All sales are final and as is.
Bid awards must remove their equipment within 10 days after the Bid

reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Recycling leaf and yard debris
|The Town of Scituate will be accepting "leaf and yard debris" at
the Department of Public Works Complex, Trimtown Road, North Scituate on the following
dates and times:
Monday thru Friday 7 am to3:30 pm
Saturday 9:30 am to 12:00 noon
Leaf and yard debris will be defined as: brush and branches - less than 2" in diameter, leaves, twigs and grass clippings. Debris must not include any plastic bags.
Hours subject to change
The Town of Scituate provides weekly curbside rubbish pick up and bi-weekly curbside recycling pick up.
